Insecurity: Troops rescue seven kidnapped persons in Kaduna


The Kaduna State Government, on Monday said troops have rescued seven kidnapped persons in the state.

Samuel Aruwan, the state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, said security operatives have reported to the government that troops have rescued seven people from bandits who invaded Ungwan Garama, located in the Maraban Rido General Area of Chikun Local Government, Kaduna State.

According to him, the troops received distress calls notifying them of bandits’ attack and immediately responded by engaging the attackers.

He added that the superior firepower of the troops forced the criminals to flee.

According to him, the security forces exploited the escape route of the bandits, and were able to rescue seven persons who were abducted, adding that all the rescued victims have been reunited with their families.

He said Governor Nasir El-Rufai commended the security forces for their spirited efforts and speed of response, just as he also conveyed his warm regards and best wishes to the rescued persons.
